TALLIA STORM DROPS OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO

‘ THE GOOD LIE ’

Tallia Storm has revealed a jaw dropping, vibrant and bikini laden music video.

Welcome to the modern day ‘Good Lies’ that our Instagram millennial’s have made such a norm.

The anthem which has clocked up over 900,000 plays on Spotify, takes a light hearted approach to living the illusion of ‘good lies’ seen through the eyes of social media. The video was directed by the go-to man of those once in a lifetime travel experiences on Instagram, Juhani Sarglep, from the uber cool creative outfit Komodo. The video brings together a bunch of hot social media chicks, with equally impressive following, enjoying the merits of a good life or shall we say a ‘good lie’? But there’s no visual lies here, with the girls arriving by private jet, this is the real ‘baller’ deal or so it seems. The idyllic landscapes and vast white sands resembles the glamorous mediterranean coastline of the Cote d’Azur but alas, it’s the island of Jersey in our very own British Isles – who’d have thought it!

The video depicts a well dressed squad of BFF’s indulging in some serious late summer fun, with Tallia showing off her sultry fashion forward style.

Complete with a poolside mansion, chauffeurs and a nifty little Sunseeker San Remo, which makes for the perfect sea party, the cinematography does a great job to ignite our enviable eyes to this display of an extravagant adventure.

With vodka and champagne on tap and bikini dressed gals on Flowtslife inflatables, it looks like the ultimate BFF party.

But in reality, Tallia is calling out all the ‘good liars’ of Instagram, whose lifestyles are sometimes too much to bear.

The London based singer said; “Look, the private jet didn’t leave the tarmac, the Grey Goose was in fact water, the coast line wasn’t St. Tropez but Jersey and I had never met the girls before the shoot. But you know what, we had an absolute blast shooting it. The point here is to highlight the harsh reality of Instagram.

The vast majority of us are a little artistic with the truth on our social media feeds. We cheat, exaggerate and even spin our visual identities. It’s not that we’re intending to be cruel or deceiving, we do it because it looks better. It probably flows with our feed and you know what – it’s accepted. My life if full of good lies and I’m not ashamed to admit it.

Do I travel in Private Jets all the time – of course I don’t – I have an EasyJet Plus Card. Does my face look like this all the time? Of course it doesn’t – normally I have just spent an hour in the MAC Pro artist chair having my make-up done for a shoot or event. Is it real? Well it is and it isn’t – that’s why in a way, they are ‘good lies’.

We all do it. Boyfriends, parents, little brothers all drafted in to get that ‘one shot’ for Instagram, where your body is contorted into a cool shape. Don’t get me started about the bull**** #nofilter #noretouch nonsense. Every photoshoot I have ever taken part in is retouched – that’s just part of the game.

We love escapism, we love to drift in an out of our personal consciousness when we are scrolling through feeds, imagining how wonderful it would be to be in those beautiful places.

We admire, tick, love heart the vivid colours, poignant messages, images and lives…and the truth be told…we don’t care at all about ‘good lies’. In fact, we’re fueling it. The question is how far will you go for it?”

The video looks like the most idealistic BFF weekend ever and there was clearly no expense spared. Rolling it out at the end of summer was a clever move too. When most of us regular folks have been stalking Instagram all summer, wishing we were on those yachts, planes and beaches, when in fact we’ve been sitting behind our desks, we might just actually get the video’s point.

Visuals aside, there’s no denying that the vocals showcase Tallia’s fresh and distinct soulful voice. She continues to impress industry insiders and music royalty like Nile Rodgers who called her ‘one of his favourite new artists in the world’ and let’s not forget she was also discovered by Sir Elton John after she left her demo CD with his partner David Furnish in a restaurant. The legend listened to her CD and called her up and invited her to open his concert after saying she ‘had one of the most impressive soul signatures he’ heard in years’.

With her own 285,000 followers on Instagram, position as a serious fashion influencer and author with her own ‘Pop Girl’ novel published by Scholastic, it’s clear this ‘storm’ is continuing to  gather pace.

Featuring on Spotify’s ‘Chilled Pop Hit’s’ and ‘Slow Jamz’, Tallia is certainly creating strong waves with her songwriting and powerful signature and whether you love or loathe Instagram, this 18 year old reminds us that perhaps we are all guilty of social media’s ‘good lies’.  That aside, Jersey should consider using it for a tourist video as it’s never looked so good under the direction of Komodo, the content creation company working internationally connecting influencers and brands through travel!
