Strong believers in sustainability and ethical fashion BIRD + WOLF brings new life to military and utility apparel.
Every Tom Boy/Girl’s Dream
How I love this brand, Bird + Wolf. I noticed a few mutual friends posing online with these amazing camouflage coats and I thought HEY!!! I need to have myself one of these.
Ok, yes it’s a million degrees in England right now, but how some people collect millions of pairs of shoes, my vice is collecting one of a kind coats/jackets.
Bird + Wolf literally got my attention and I had to find out more about this brand and get my hands on one of these brilliant military and utility apparel.
Have you noticed a pattern in what people choose as wording for their items purchased?
I think there’s been a real shift in people’s attitudes over the last few years. Women are feeling a lot stronger and ballsy. Boundaries within sexuality and gender have and are continuing to diminish and people aren’t afraid to state their thoughts loudly and proudly.
Who buys your brand?
All sorts of people!
Where can we purchase?
Online - www.birdandwolf.co.uk
Who are your inspirations?
People around me who are kind, supportive and go their own way! People that don’t hold back and stay in the same lane because they feel you have to be a certain way. People who know life is short and we don’t get this chance again to do all the things we want to do. People who say go for it!
Name an unforgettable experience during your journey?
It’s been a wonderful experience from the off. It’s evolved so organically and wonderfully and I can’t wait to see how and where it’s going to go from here.
Who is "Bird + Wolf"?
We are a new label who are debunking the idea that men should wear menswear and women should wear womenswear. All our range is gender neutral. We believe that everyone should have a choice in what they can wear without boundaries or preconceived rules. We also utilise ex army and utility apparel as we feel these are not only sustainable but surpass the durability and quality of many of the factory made clothes in the shops at the moment.
Where are you based?
We are based in the UK, near London
What sparked you to create this brand?
Tell us about your products?
The product almost conceived itself. I was wearing a camo jacket I had customised in Harrods last October and long story short a lady bought it off my back. A few weeks later I thought I would experiment with different designs and six months later Bird + Wolf is how it is today. However, we are an evolving brand and we do not restrict ourselves with rules of what we should be selling. We listen to our customers and learn from the feedback we receive.
Why the wording on the back of your products?
I am actually a writer and a lover of words. I love how words and sentences can evoke so much feeling and association.

What triumphs and tragedies have you faced building you brand?
No tragedies yet! In terms of triumphs I think switching from factory made clothes to ex army as made the brand what it is today.
As a female lead brand what tips do you have to new self starters?
Just start. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Stick to your guns. Think carefully about the brand image. Even if it continually evolves, just make sure it continues along the same thread. Saying that if it doesn’t feel right and it’s not connecting with anyone then just gently fall back, regroup and have a think about how you can tweak it to improve it.
What does female empowerment meant to you?
I don’t want to say female empowerment, I think it’s important to ensure everyone has the ability to be empowered and supported in all their endeavours. I have two sons and I encourage and support them to feel empowered in all they wish to do. Everyone needs to have equal chances and support in their chosen paths.
What 5 things do you do for Self love/ Treat yourself?
I’m not sure I can say I treat myself very often! But lovely get togethers with my girlfriends over coffee or lunch is always a joy.
What does the future hold for you and Bird and Wolf?
Who knows! I just have to focus, listen and keep evolving the company. We have received so much support and kindness from people and we are very grateful for that.
