Staying put with Sticky Heelz

I finally had the opportunity to try out these little blessings from the shoe god! Shoes being heels which are my nemesis. I have never really been a girlie girl when it comes to shoe-wear. Unlike my mom who literally has a pair for every week.
They are beautiful to see on a woman, but with my feet, I just feel pain and discomfort and my movements mimic Bambi on ice. So outside of the bedroom (wink) I leave the heels and don flats or my favourite Adidas when its time to hit the town.
But it’s sometimes unavoidable for me and I have to get this feet killers on my limbs and strut my stuff at some events.

I had been invited to the launch of Sticky Heelz brand in London a few months ago. I was very interested in seeing what this product had to offer heel haters like myself. I was so delighted to meet, Laura Birrell. When she introduced herself I was doubly pleased to hear that oh so missed and familiar Scottish accent, we immediately hit it off! Birrell’s Sticky Heelz pads are the solution to slipping heel syndrome, but also provide comfort and help prevent blisters.
How does it work?
Sticky Heelz comes in two parts, a shoe pad into the back of the shoe, a heel pad on the back of the foot and connect the pads to secure the foot inside shoe. The dual action prevents slippage in your heels. These discreet stickers with are a combination of velcro and sticker hold your foot into place.
This is quite a great thing for me because my dodgy heel walking skills is due to the heels actually feeling like they were going to fall off my foot and I am using all my power to grip the shoe in place by squeezing my toes together. Not so sexy and ever so uncomfortable. The Sticky heelz brand also have a solution to achy foot arches. The Teardrop Arch pads support the ball of your foot and reduces pressure while walking.
The pads and grips are interchangeable so you can use them on a few heels at a time.
So what did I think?
My fiddly fingers found it a bit difficult at first getting the pads aligned, but once I overcame that obstacle I could feel straight away the security with these tiny but super effective pads. Now, I was wearing them with thick tights. I am not sure what I was thinking, but I just I was a bit cold that day and I still wanted to try these out. Obviously there was a bit of slippage as the second set of sticker was attached to the cloth not to my heel. SO, I did use the other set on my bare back of the heel and voila, no slippage.
I went extra that glamorous night attending the British Restaurant Awards and decided to try out the arch pads. I found the ball support quite comfortable, but it is important to line up the ball correctly to really enjoy the effect of the arch pad.
Where can these be found?
Seen used by celebs, you can also purchase these online on the Sticky Heelz site. But if you are out and about, these fantastic little feet pleasure providers can also be found at High St stores like Boots and Superdrug. Reasonably priced from £4.99 these pads are worth resurrecting heels you ran away from or for those like me who are not regular heel chasers and let out a little cry when they are called for when you ask for the dress code. A decent investment to strut your stuff when sexy heels are required!
