It's coming to that time where the schools let out our kids and we pull our hair out needing to find ways to entertain them for one whole week.
I have recently discovered that the younger kids, under 10s, are a bit easier to cater for in choices of activities. What exactly do you do with Tweens? 🤔 We call these, the mid to late 10 year olds - 13 year olds. The ones who would much rather play on consoles, or even better; because you have a mix of boys and girls, one wants the skateboard park and the other wants to go to Claire's Accessories! So how do you satisfy everyone?
Well, here are a few places we have discovered in our travels, where both sexes are happy and suit the age ranges!
Day out in London at Marvel's Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N at Excel London.
We would rate it suitable for 5-11 yr olds. Slightly younger or slightly older could enjoy this too, but there is a bit of wait time going in and to use a few of the hands on features at the exhibition.

Our lot were excited as we had a "road" trip included in our experience. David and his son (upper 10) drove down from Nottingham and my two (lower 10 and 12) from Weybridge in Surrey. Cars and trains and tube rides, oh my!
Little miss lower 10 was excited about using the AR feature and the older ones took a stroll around the exhibition, taking in the information from the backstory of the Avengers. Lots of lights, technology, characters, models, and features to explore! Even David had a hand in expanding his knowledge!

The whole experience was about 2 hours or so, including the waiting time. Cost is a bit dear, but as a whole including the journey, a half-a-days entertainment for those in-betweeners! Read more about what you can expect at this unique adventure!
Highlights of the day:
For those who are in Nottingham!
We took them to Escape family entertainment centre in Giltbrook, Nottingham on the Ikea Retail/Industrial Park. We would rate this toddlers to 14 yrs. There is a separate area for babies.

The centre provides a gigantic adventure area, which is perfectly placed so you can spot your child if needed. Escape also houses dodgeball, basketball and go karting areas. We favoured this venue as it pleases everyone even if you have an odd number like 3 Tweens. There is something for them to enjoy together and also venture off on their own safely. And, for the parents, there is a main area with tables for food and drink. We were able to sit back and chat while the kids went off with little breaks in between to replenish their energy levels.
At Escape, you can expect to stay up to 2 hours. I admit it does go by quite fast. But three happy 10-12 year olds was the main aim and was achieved. The price is based on the children. The experience at what the company considers "Not merely a Soft Play Centre, but the LARGEST, PURPOSE BUILT Family Entertainment Centre in Nottinghamshire" was definitely a hit! Meanwhile back in Surrey!
If the weather is on your side and they need that competitive fix they get with consoles, you can also entertain indecisive teenyboppers at Mr Mulligan's Pirate Golf in Hoebridge, Woking. A great place to get some exercise, have fun, and enjoy as a whole family.

A pirate themed mini golf course, skilfully placed on land and SEA! We would rate it suitable for 7 and up. A place for all ages. Time to complete the 18 holes probably estimates about 1-2 hours based on 3 people. Also depending on the skills of those ahead of you 😏.
Each hole has an amusing pirate themed design to it and there is also a pulley bridge that you must work your way over as a team. Lot's of fun and laughs can be had at this venue. Mr Mulligan's is reasonably priced especially when coming as a group/family. For more information follow the link.
